My old 3 cup Moka pot is perfect and of good quality. Upon opening the brand new Moka Express pot the coffee holder was stained with black oil grease, the gasket (the white rubber) were also stained with the black oil grease. Before using the pot, it was thoroughly cleaned with detergent and dried.Fill the coffee holder with stove-top grain size coffee without tamping the coffee, and the lower section is filled with water just below the safety release valve.
